Dr. Hook was an American rock band formed in New Jersey in 1967. The band consisted of vocalist Ray Sawyer, guitarist and vocalist Dennis Locorriere, keyboard player Billy Francis, drummer Jay David, bassist Jance Garfat and backup vocalist Rik Elswit. The band had a string of hits in the 70s and 80s and were known for their unique sound that blended rock and roll with country and blues.
